The Color Guard Den and the Color Guard Commander Den each arrive 15-20 minutes
prior to the meeting for a walkthrough of the Ceremony. Scouts MUST be in uniform
to participate.
One den (generally Webelos) is assigned the responsibility for Color Guard
Commander. Either one scout in this den (perhaps that month’s Denner) will
actually act as Commander and “call” all of the commands, or the commands can
be assigned to each of the Scouts in the this den.
Another den is assigned the responsibility for Color Guard. Two scouts in this
den will act as flag bearers. The remainder of the den will act as flag guard
members.
This particular ceremony has been modified to maximize the number of scouts
involved in the ceremony. This ceremony is provided as an example, and can be
adjusted to the circumstances.

on the stage, with the American Flag on the speaker’s right and the
Pack flag on the speaker’s left. A piece of tape is placed in
the center of the stage to help the Color Guard know where to pause
while waiting for the command to “Post the Colors”. The Color
Guard Den retrieves the flags, and waits at the back of the room.
